Huli, Papua New Guinea
Huli tribe, among famous tribes on Papua New Guinea, are proud and fearless warriors known for their unique and ornate headdresses and the way they paint their faces and bodies with bright yellow clay called Ambua - considered sacred by the tribe, and red ochre. The men of these tribes dress in a very fascinating manner with snakeskin tied around their forehead, a hornbill beak on their backs, cassowary quills through their noses, kina shells around their necks and a belt of pigtails to attract the ladies.
Kazakhs, Kazakhstan
Kazakhs have been travelling through mountains and valleys since the 15th century. They are a semi-nomadic tribe considered to be the descendants of Mongols and other nomadic tribes of Central Asia and still follow those century-old traditions. Hunting with eagles and taming wild horses are the most popular of the old traditions. The Kazakhs clad in wolf-skin take the mountains riding horses with golden eagles soaring celebrating the age-old culture in the annual Golden Eagle Festival.
Rabari, India
India has through ages called the land of mysteries, culture and diversity. And one tribe that stands out to capture the exotic magic is the Rabari (also called Rewari or Desai). These tribes have been roaming Western India for over a 1,000 years, are believed to have migrated from Iran. Their brass jewellery, embroidery, and tattoos of symbols of both decorative and religious significance. Not only women but men often wear jewelleries as well.
Loba, Nepal
The Loba tribe people are among those who still believe the earth is flat. The forbidden kingdom of Mustang is a remote and isolated region amidst the Himalayas in Nepal. The land is also the home of this mystic tribe. The Loba tribe follows Buddhism in its early forms and are known for their unique festivals. The festival with a ritual of "chasing of the demons" called Tiji Festival is a three day celebrated here.
