When Swami Krishnanand Paramhans came here in the year 1950, then there was a shortage of water in Solan. Due to the lack of water, the people here had to live in a lot of difficulties. In such a situation, Swami Krishnanand Paramhans did severe penance and then Shiva struck with his trident and a stream of water gushed out. Since then water bodies have existed here. It is believed that since then till today there was no problem of water shortage at this place. The people here believe that after bathing in the water of this water tank made of Trishul, the body becomes healthy. Devotees throng here on the day of Mahashivaratri. There is an influx of devotees especially during Mahashivratri and the month of Sawan. The situation is such that the devotees have to wait for hours to have darshan.

The height of the dome of Jatoli Shiva temple is said to be 111 feet. Recently, an 11 feet tall golden urn has been offered at this temple. The total height of the temple is up to 122 feet. Devotees have to climb 100 steps to enter the Jatoli Shiva temple. Idols of other gods and goddesses have been installed outside and around the temple.
