DISCOVER NATUREs HIDDEN TREASURES AT RAJAJI NATIONAL PARK
Rajaji
National Park is located in Dehradun and Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand.
This attractive park is blessed with an abundance of flora and fauna which makes
for a wonderful holiday destination for nature lovers, and wildlife enthusiasts.
Rajaji National Park, famous for tigers and elephants, has recently been given
the status of Tiger Reserve by the Government of India. C Rajagopalachari
National Park is spread over three districts Uttarakhand, Dehradun, Haridwar, and Pauri Garhwal. It is popular for sal, teak, and other shrubs in the forest
area. Tourists enjoy jeep safari or elephant safari in Rajaji National Park.
Spread over an area of about 34 km, this attractive park attracts the attention
of tourists. Tourists also come for trekking in its forest.
Peeking into
the history of Rajaji National Park, we find that till 1983, the 820-kilometer-long part of the forest was spread in the form of three different wildlife.
Which was spread over the Haridwar, Dehradun, and Pauri Garhwal districts of
Uttarakhand state. The credit for the establishment of Rajaji National Park
goes to C Rajagopalachari. This Rajaji National Park came into existence in the
year 1948. Talking about the wildlife found in Rajaji National Park, one can
see Asian elephants, chital, kakar, python, monitor lizard, panthers, bears,
tigers, wild cats, sambhar, wild boar, and king cobras, etc. here. Many migratory
birds can also be seen in Rajaji National Park.
The dense foliage of sal trees and bamboo stalks can be seen in Rajaji National Park.
Rajaji National Park Haridwar Uttarakhand Forest range is famous for tropical
and sub-tropical vegetation. Deciduous broadleaf trees found on both sides of
the river adorn the forestland. Beautiful flowering trees like Kachnar,
Lantana, Sandan, Amaltas, Kedia, Babool, and Chilla are found in the park.
Apart from this, the trees found here include Ber, Peepal, Ficus, Adina,
Shorea, Bel, Chamar, etc.
After
entering Rajaji National Park, you will get to see many safari vehicles roaming
in this park, with the help of which you can easily visit this entire park. The
fare of the safari vehicle present in this park is ₹ 2200, in which a maximum of 6 people
can sit and visit this entire park. Even if fewer people sit in the safari
vehicle present in this park, then their fare will also be ₹ 2200 only. While
entering the park after boarding the safari vehicle, as many people sitting in
the vehicle have to pay ₹ 150, which is charged by the Forest Department. This
charge is not included in the safari vehicle charge. You will have to pay for
this separately. This train starts at 6:00 am and leaves at 10:00 am. After
that, it opens at 2:00 pm and continues till 6:00 pm. No vehicle is allowed
inside this park at night.
HOW TO REACH RAJAJI NATIONAL PARK?
By
Aeroplane: If you have chosen the air route to Rajaji National Park, then let us tell you that Jolly Grant Airport is located in the southeast at a distance of about 39 km and it is also known as Dehradun Airport.
By Train: The nearest railway stations to
Rajaji National Park are Rishikesh (18 km), Virbhadra (20 km), Motichur (23 km), and Haridwar (24 km) railway stations. Rajaji National Park is almost in the
middle of these three railway stations, yet you have to come to Haridwar
railway station to reach Rajaji National Park, which is connected by rail to
major cities of the country. You will easily get a taxi facility to go to Rajaji
National Park from Haridwar railway station.
By Bus: If you want to go to this park by
bus, you can come to Virbhadra (15 km) Haridwar or Rishikesh bus stand and from
there you will get a taxi facility to go to Rajaji National Park, but you can go
to Haridwar or Rishikesh Try to come by bus at the bus stand itself, which is
directly connected by road to major cities of the country.
