Sometimes it gets very cold during winter in some parts of India. Many people enjoy winters by visiting hill stations and playing in the snow. However, there are many people who prefer the warmth of the sun and prefer to visit coastal places rather than cooler places. If you also do not like the winter season, then you can go to explore these places which are warm during winter also. Let's have a look at the places that you can visit this winter season.

1. ANDAMAN

If you've got sunny skies, golden beaches, beautiful seas, and quaint environs on your mind, then pack your bags for a trip to Andaman! Owing to the ever-welcoming weather and a wide range of fun and outdoor things to do in Andaman. Not to mention the long list of scrumptious seafood and mind-bending places to visit in Andaman that will make your vacation very much an unforgettable one. A paradise for honeymooners, an adventure spot for diving lovers, and an idyllic island for a peaceful family getaway. These places will welcome you with enchanting experiences on your Andaman holiday. Though it is a year-round destination, the best season to visit Andaman is winter.

HOW TO REACH ANDAMAN

By Air: Port Blair, which is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Island and has an airport where flights take off from various major cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

By Train: Since you also know that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are situated in the middle of the sea, so if you want to complete the trip to Andaman and Nicobar by train, then first you will have to take a train from your city to Kolkata or Chennai because, from these two cities, Ship facility is available to go to Andaman and Nicobar.

By Bus: To go to Andaman and Nicobar by bus, you can first go to Kolkata or Chennai, because ship facility is available from these two cities to go to Andaman and Nicobar. 

2. KOHIMA

In short, the charm of the North East, the capital of Nagaland – Kohima is one of the best places to visit in December. The town is nestled amidst a picturesque landscape of lush forests, hills, valleys, and rhododendron forests. Wildlife thrives in the area. Nagaland is home to several tribal communities and the capital is a treasure trove of all these diverse sects, their culture, lifestyle, and heritage. Learn about the wealth of the ethnicity at the museums and Kisama Heritage Village where the vibrant celebrations of the Hornbill Festival are held in the first week of December.

HOW TO REACH KOHIMA

By Air: The nearest airport is the Dimapur Airport (DMU) which is located (approx.) 74 km from Kohima. Being a major airport in the Northeast, it is quite well connected to other Indian cities.

By Train: The nearest railway station is located in Dimapur which is located at a distance of about 70-74 km. It has very good connectivity with other Indian cities.

By Bus: Kohima has good connectivity through motorable roads. It is easily accessible from Dimapur via the NH 39. From Dimapur bus and taxis are simply available to Kohima.

3. MUNNAR

The calmness of Munnar is beyond belief, and so is its breathtaking beauty. During winter, one can hear the winds talking to the wind here and feel the crispness in the air. The place is defined by its sprawling tea gardens, quaint towns, and narrow winding lanes that never seem to disappear. Winters are when you should explore the attractions of Eravikulam National Park, enjoy a trek to Anamudi Peak, explore the town of Mattupetty and soak in the beauty of Pallivasal.

HOW TO REACH MUNNAR

By Air: Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport to reach Munnar by air. The airport is (approx) 125 km away and is well established, offering regular and connecting flights by renowned airline services.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Aluva Railway Station which is located in Aluva. It is just 110 km away from Munnar. Another railway station is Ernakulam Railway Station which is 130 km away from Munnar.

By Bus: Munnar is also well connected by roads with other cities. You can book a ticket on the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) website or get it from the counter at the bus terminal next to the Aluva Railway Station. 

4. GOA

Goa is bustling with high energy in December. It is the perfect time to enjoy beaches, parties, concerts, food, free-floating yachts, water sports, sightseeing, and other adventures. The fascinating wonders of the beach state of Goa, also known as the 'Capital of India', are many. One of the best holiday destinations in India in December, Goa receives a huge number of tourists from all over the world as two of the most happening events at this time of the year are the Sunburn Festival and the special New Year's Eve parties. Goa is indeed a fun destination.

HOW TO REACH GOA

By Flight: There is only one airport in the entire state of Goa, which is named as Goa International Airport, but some people also know it as Vasco da Gama Airport. Here the taxi and bus facilities are provided for both South and North Goa.

By Train: The nearest railway station to North Goa is Thivim, which is connected to many major cities in the country. Whereas, South Goa has two railway stations Vasco da Gama and Madgaon, which are also connected to major cities of the country.

By Bus: Direct buses run from many big cities of the country to the Kadamba bus stand of Panaji which is considered as the main bus station of Goa.

5. NAGPUR

It is known as Orange City and is the third-largest city in Maharashtra. The city is known across the country for its delectable and juicy varieties of oranges. Nagpur is called the second capital of Maharashtra and has a rich cultural heritage to attract tourists. Winter is the best time to visit Nagpur as the city has pleasant weather. One can enjoy exploring Nagpur comfortably in December and January. There are many places to see here like Deeksha Bhoomi, Ambajhari Lake, Futala Lake, Ramtek Fort Temple, Bohra Masjid, and Narangi Bagh.

HOW TO REACH NAGPUR

By Flight: The nearest airport to Nagpur is Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar International Airport. It is situated at a distance of 10 km from where one can reach Nagpur by taking a taxi.

By Train: Nagpur Junction railway station, is connected to many railway stations in the country. It is located at a distance of 1 km, which you can complete by walking or even by taxi.

By Bus: Private and government buses are available from various cities of Maharashtra to reach Nagpur. Also, bus facilities are also provided to Nagpur from major cities of nearby states like Orissa, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
