HOT SPRINGS THAT YOU MUST DIP INTO!
If you've
ever soaked in hot springs, you know what a wonderfully relaxing experience it
can be. Natural hot springs can be found anywhere there is volcanic activity,
magma chambers, or fault lines on the Earth. They are high in minerals such as
calcium, magnesium, silica, and lithium which can help soothe muscles and even
promote healing. Even better in one surrounded by spectacular views like these
that are well worth planning a trip around. Let’s get to know six worldwide
renowned natural hot springs.
1. BLUE LAGOON HOT SPRINGS, ICELAND
Iceland's
Blue Lagoon has become a bucket list destination for many. The unique lagoon is
filled with mineral-rich, milky aquamarine water and is surrounded by black
lava rocks. No matter what time of year you visit, it's wonderful to bathe in
those exceptionally warm waters, although it may be most ideal when the snow is
softly falling or on a chilly rainy day when the mist is on fire. Visitors can
also indulge in underwater massages, and enjoy skin-enhancing treatments such
as an algae face mask or a volcanic rock scrub. There is a small cafe in
between to have a drink like a healthy smoothie, a glass of wine, or a beer.
2. PAMUKKALE HOT SPRINGS, TURKEY
For
thousands of years, people have bathed in the Pamukkale Hot Springs, located
north of the city of Denizli in southwestern Turkey. This UNESCO World Heritage
Site was famous as a spa center during Roman times, with castles being built
after several earthquakes, which led to the emergence of mineral-filled hot
springs. Calcium and hydrogen carbonate react to form calcium carbonate, or
travertine, and limestone, which is what gives the area its white color and
helps form the pool. Accessed through a gate, reached with a 30-minute hike,
there are several pools, all no more than a foot deep.
3. GRAND PRISMATIC HOT SPRINGS, UNITED STATES
The largest
in America and the third largest in the world, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring
is located in Yellowstone National Park. The size of this spring is about 250
to 300 feet i.e., 75 to 91 meters and it is about 160 feet i.e., 49 meters
deep. The temperature of the water present in it always warm up to 160
Fahrenheit i.e., 71 centigrade. 560 gallons of water i.e., 2000 liters is

wonderful experience of enjoying the warmth of ice-drenched water, and is possibly
the best place to relax in mother nature's lap.
4. KLONG THOM HOT SPRINGS, THAILAND
Klong Thom,
or Krabi Hot Springs, is considered one of Thailand's most spectacular natural
wonders, located within a small forest preserve. This top attraction in Krabi
is made up of naturally hollowed-out 'bathtubs' that sit in smooth stone, which
fill with natural fresh running spring water in temperatures that range from 95
to 107 degrees. After soaking, you can enjoy a refreshingly cool dip in the river
below or visit the nearby Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve, home to a large
natural pool with cool spring water for swimming.
5. BANFF UPPER HOT SPRINGS, CANADA
Banff is
famous for its outdoor adventures such as hiking and skiing in Banff National
Park, and after a day of play, there may be no better way to soothe those sore
muscles than with a trip to Upper Banff Springs. The hot springs were
discovered in 1884 and continue to draw visitors with year-round temperatures
between 98 and 104 degrees and a spectacular backdrop of mountains to gaze at.
First Nations people believed the springs to be sacred waters that could cure
diseases and support good health, and over the decades, they have become one of
the park's most popular attractions.

Glenwood

hottest hot springs in the world. It flows from Yampa Spring which produces
three million gallons of water every day at a temperature of 122 million

a pleasant breeze. The Glenwood Hot Springs Pool is the largest hot spring pool
on the planet, offering plenty of room to soak, swim and splash around. There
is even a lap lane and diving area at the west end. During the warmer months of
the year, the brand new, family-friendly Sopris Splash Zone is open on the west
