In a major announcement on December 12, Kenyan President William Ruto informed that from January 2024, travelers from all over the world will not require a visa to enter Kenya (visa-free countries for Indians). The move is part of the government's efforts to simplify the entry process using the newly developed digital platform. Every country including India is included in the list of visa-free travel. This means that you no longer have to go through the lengthy Visa process to visit Kenya.
President Ruto stressed the significance of the decision during an event in Nairobi to mark 60 years of Kenya's independence from Britain. In his speech, he said that the newly developed platform will issue electronic travel authorization, eliminating the need for lengthy visa application processes. The President expressed his commitment to the easing of travel restrictions and stressed that people from any part of the world will no longer have to bear the burden of applying for a visa to visit Kenya.
This
visionary initiative is part of President Ruto's long-standing push for
visa-free travel within the African continent. At a conference held in the
Republic of Congo in October, he presented a framework of visa waiver plans,
indicating that citizens of African countries could travel to Kenya
without a visa by the end of 2023. This decision of Kenya is scheduled to start
in January 2024, which will help promote tourism and strengthen the
country's global connections.
VISA-FREE ENTRY FOR INDIANS IN MALAYSIA
Malaysia has
started granting visa-free entry to citizens of India and China from December

Chinese and Indian citizens can stay visa-free in Malaysia for up to 30 days. Malaysia
is doing this to support economic growth. Earlier, Sri Lanka and Thailand had

VIETNAM MAY ALSO START VISA-FREE ENTRY FOR INDIANS
Vietnam can also start visa-free entry for travelers from India. Citizens of countries like Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland can enter Vietnam without a visa. According to local news agency VNExpress, Vietnam's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has asked for short-term visa waivers for major markets like China and India to improve tourism. This is being done to boost the tourism industry.
The number of
Indians traveling abroad reached 2.1 crore. Indian government data shows that
the number of Indians traveling abroad increased from 14 million in 2011 to 27
million in 2019. Then due to Corona epidemic, the tourism sector came to a
standstill for two years. This number will again increase to 2.1 crore in 2022.
