MOST POWERFUL PASSPORTS OF 2023
Recently
the ranking of this year's (2023) powerful passport has also been released.
Through this ranking, it is known how powerful is the passport of which
country. Henley & Partners, a London-based global citizenship and residency
advisory firm, has released its ranking of the world's most powerful passports
for the year 2023. In this recently revealed ranking, once again Japan has won
the number one position. At the same time, Singapore and South Korea are in the
second position on this list. At the same time, our country India is number 85
on this list, where passport holders can roam in 59 countries without a visa.
In such a situation, all the questions arise what is the meaning of a powerful
passport, and according to what scale it is decided? So, let’s know all the
details regarding this process.
WHAT IS MEANT BY A POWERFUL PASSPORT?
The Passport Rankings are released every year by
Henley & Partners, a London-based immigration consultancy. Through this ranking,
it is known that the passport of which country is powerful and which country is
weak. Having a powerful passport means that the more powerful the passport of
the country, the more citizens of that country will be free to visit and roam
more and more countries around the world without visas. As Japan is one number
this year, people here can travel to 193 countries of the world without a visa.
HOW PASSPORT RANKING IS DECIDED
To release this list of powerful passports,
'Hanley & Partners have included 227 countries of the world. The passport
is then ranked based on data provided by the International Air Transport
Association (IATA). Various factors are taken into consideration to decide this
ranking. For example, if a country's passport holders do not require a visa,
then that country's passport is given the number one score. Along with this,
many other factors related to visas and foreign travel play an important role
in deciding the passport ranking of the country.
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF A STRONG AND WEAK PASSPORT?
A powerful passport means that a citizen of that
country has the right to travel to more countries in the world without a visa.
In contrast, people from countries with weak passports can travel to very few
countries without a visa. For example, the people of Japan living number one
can visit 193 countries of the world without a visa. At the same time, the
people of Afghanistan, who ranked 109th in this ranking, can roam only 27
countries without a passport.
