Great news for those tourists who are planning to visit Kashmir and are currently roaming in the beautiful valleys of Kashmir. Asia's largest tulip garden is about to open in Srinagar. Every year in March, lakhs of tourists reach Srinagar to see the colorful tulips blooming in this garden. This garden is a must-visit place for tourists visiting Kashmir during summer season. The full name of Tulip Garden is Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, which was earlier known as Siraj Bagh.
The doors of the Tulip Garden will be officially opened for tourists on 23rd March. It has been told by the officials that this year 5 new types of tulip flowers will be seen in the Tulip Garden. This means that this year tourists will be able to see a total of 73 types of tulip flowers in the garden. In this garden spread over an area of 55 hectares, trees have been grown this year from 17 lakh tulip bulbs, in which the brightly colored tulip flowers blooming fascinate every tourist who comes here. However, now not only tulips but also many other types of flowers like daffodils, muscari, cyclamen, and most especially cherry and white blossoms make the Tulip Garden along with all the other gardens of Srinagar seem buzzing. This garden was prepared in the year 2007. Initially, 50,000 tulip bulbs were imported from Holland. Gradually its popularity among tourists kept increasing.
Srinagar's Tulip Garden is a major stop for the large number of tourists visiting Kashmir during spring and early summer. Last year, a record 3.65 lakh domestic and foreign tourists visited the Tulip Garden. In the year 2022, 3.6 lakh people had come to the Tulip Garden to see these brightly colored flowers closely. It is better to plan to visit the Tulip Garden at least 2-3 days after its opening. Even though the garden is opened for tourists after a good number of tulip flowers bloom, it takes another 2-3 days for these flowers to bloom completely. Therefore, if you go 2-3 days after the garden opens, you will not only get the best view but will also be able to click good photos. These flowers take some time to wither. Therefore, there is no need to panic too much thinking that the flowers will wither immediately after blooming.
The doors of the Tulip Garden are open for tourists from 8 am to 7 pm. However, sometimes the timing of the opening and closing of the garden also depends on the number of tourists coming here. Last year, an entry fee of ₹60 was charged for adults and ₹25 for children. The famous Tulip Garden of Srinagar is located at a distance of 22 km from the airport, 18 km from the railway station, and just 8 km from Lal Chowk. A large number of autos and e-rickshaws run in Srinagar, which will take you to the Tulip Garden. You can buy tickets from the ticket counter by paying the entry fee.

Sheikh-ul-Alam Airport in Srinagar is an international airport. The airport is
well-connected and has regular flights to all the major cities. Cabs are
available at the airport to take your destination in the city.
HOW TO REACH SRINAGAR BY TRAIN
The nearest
railway stations are the Jammu Tawi (271 km from Srinagar) and the Udhampur
Railway Station (200 km from Srinagar). The stations are well-connected to all
the major cities of the country. Private cabs and State Government buses can be
boarded from the stations to reach Srinagar.
HOW TO REACH SRINAGAR BY ROAD
Srinagar is
well-connected by road to cities like Jammu, Delhi and Chandigarh. You can take
JKSRTC buses to travel to and from the city.
