Many times people say that India has very dirty beaches, garbage is spread everywhere. But did they know there are some amazing beaches that have qualified the iconic Blue Flag tag? Yes, there are ten such wonderful beaches in India. So, without wasting time let's get to know about all this.

What is a Blue Flag?

The Blue Flag is the most prestigious voluntary award for beaches, marinas, and justifiable boating tourism machinists. To achieve this Blue Flag award there are certain criteria that have to be met and maintained like - sequence of strict environmental, instructive, protection, and convenience.

Purpose of Blue Flag

The Blue Flag program aims to tie the bond between people and the environment, so that the people can relate to their surroundings, can be aware of it, and should know how to keep it clean. It encourages the sustainable progress of freshwater and marine areas and also pushes people to study their atmosphere. The Blue Flag program also defy domestic supremacy, beach machinists, and maintainable boating tourism operators to attain high quality in water superiority, ecological administration, environmental teaching/ information, security, and amenities.

How to achieve Blue Flag tag

Blue Flag is the initiative by the worldwide board of judges from the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP), United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Denmark-based NGO Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The Blue Flag license is rewarded by the Denmark-based non-profit Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and can be achieved by a beach, marina, or sustainable boating tourism operator, and provides an eco-label. It is rewarded once a year to beaches and marinas in FEE-associated countries but only to those who have met their fixed 33 strict environmental learning, bathing water quality, preservation, and safety & access-related criteria.
