Karva Chauth is just around the corner, and every woman likes to apply mehndi for this occasion. So, we thought to tell you about the world-famous Mehndi which is from Sojat city of Rajasthan. Sojat is a town 38 km away from the Pali district headquarters of Rajasthan. It is famous all over the world for its mehndi. From bollywood celebrities to politicians Sojat's mehndi has been applied to the hands of many famous personalities from all over the world. Earlier there was a craze among women for the design of mehndi but now women have become particular about the color of the mehndi produced. Sojat's henna is very appealing to everyone these days. Sojat alone supplies henna to 130 countries. Here the annual turnover of Mehndi is touching 4 thousand crores.

Recently, actress Katrina Kaif, who got married, to the actor Vicky Kaushal also applied Sojat’s mehndi on her hands and legs for her big day. Traders say Sojat’s soil has a special kind of pigment. This pigment is responsible for the dark color produced by heena on the hands. In such a situation, the question arises that after all, what is so special in the mehendi of Sojat town of Pali district of Rajasthan that the whole world is its admirer. So, let's answer this question and know what is the specialty of Sojat's henna.

HUGE CULTIVATION

In fact, in Sojat, neighboring towns of Raipur and Jaitaran in the Pali district, the most advanced type of henna has been grown on 60 thousand hectares. The reason for this is that the land here contains Lasonia inermis, which is the botanical name of henna.

HIGH IN LAWSONE CONTENT

Although Mehndi is produced in many places like Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, there the content of lawsone is less than two percent whereas the content in Sojat's Mehndi is 2 to 3.50 percent.

CHEMICAL FREE

Mixing with soil in Sojat gives a red color to Mehndi through chemical action. The reason for this is due to the high amount of copper in the soil of Sojat. Mehndi does not contain chemicals, so it stays for a long time. From farming to processing, 80 percent of participation is done by women.

TRADED IN 130 COUNTRIES

Let us tell you that in and around Sojat, the maximum variety of mehndi is produced in a total of 60 thousand hectares of land. Not only this, this mehndi is supplied in 130 countries. After the tag of GI, its demand has increased even more.

WHAT IS THE RATE?

Sojat's mehndi is chemical free that's why it has left behind all the mehndi. There are chemicals in the mehndi used in the markets, after applying the hands start burning and after two days the mehndi comes off like scum. That's why Sojat's mehndi is being used more these days. At the same time, women are also liking this on festivals like Karva Chauth, Vat Savitri Vrat, Teej, Rakhi, Akshaya Tritiya, Eid, etc. It is sold in the markets at a price of Rs. 200 per kg.
