DELHI-6
Built in
1913, this hotel specializes in non-vegetarian food. There are many such Karims
in Delhi but the real Karim is right in front of Jama Masjid near Daryaganj.
Vegetarians might find it a bit difficult as Seekh Kebab, Shammi Kebab and
Mutton Tikka are the specialties of this place.
2. GLENRIS,
DARJEELING
One of the
oldest restaurants in the hill town of Darjeeling, Glenery is over 130 years
old. Not just a place for a sumptuous lunch and dinner, Glenery also has a
bakery that will make you go crazy over the delicious dishes. This restaurant
is on Nehru Road. The most important thing is that the mountains are also
visible sitting here.
3. LEOPOLD
CAFE, MUMBAI
This famous
restaurant and bar of Mumbai is 150 years old. This restaurant was also
targeted in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Here one can still see the marks of
bullets protected from terrible attacks. This place is very popular not only
among the tourists but also among the local people.
4. INDIAN
COFFEE HOUSE, KOLKATA
The Kolkata
Indian Coffee House is the renowned branch of Indian Coffee House in India. It
was earlier named Albert House but after 1947 its name was changed to Coffee
House. Started in 1876, some of the famous patrons of this coffee house include
Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, and American poet Allen Ginsberg.
5. TUNDE
KEBAB, LUCKNOW
This
115-year-old place is very famous for kebab lovers in India. If you are fond of
eating kebabs, then you must definitely come here once. It was launched in 1905
and it is said that around 125 ingredients are used to make this kebab. It is
said that the same spices are used in the kebabs here, which were used a
hundred years ago.
6. SHEIKH
BROTHERS, GUWAHATI
Planned by
Sheikh Ghulam Ibrahim in the 1800s, Sheikh Brothers is the most popular
restaurant in Guwahati. Starting with bread and biscuits, this restaurant has a
wide variety of cookies, cakes and biscuits. It is being run by the third-generation
sheikhs. It is said that the Nehru family also used to come here to have food.

HARI RAM AND SONS,
ALLAHABAD
Established in 1890, Hari Ram & Sons is one of the oldest street food shops in Allahabad. The things here are made in pure ghee. Chaat, Palak Ki Namkeen, Masala Samosas, and Crispy Kachori are the famous snacks here.
