INESCAPABLE TEMPLES DURING DEEPAWALI
The
preparations for the Mahaparva i.e., Diwali are going on in full swing, as on
October 24, the festival of Diwali will be celebrated all over the country. Maa
Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and happiness and prosperity. Goddess Lakshmi,
one of the main deities of Sanatan Dharma, is worshiped in different forms in
different parts of the country. According to religious beliefs, worshiping
Goddess Lakshmi by visiting the temple, especially on Diwali removes financial
troubles and brings happiness and prosperity. There are many ancient and famous
temples of Mahalakshmi located across the country which are most visited during
Deepawali. So, let's know the importance of some of the most famous temples during
the festival of lights.
1. PADMAVATI TEMPLE, TIRUCHURA
There is a
beautiful temple of Goddess Padmavati in a small village called Tiruchura near
Tirupati. Padmavati Temple is also known as Almelmangapuram. People from
all over India come to worship the goddess, especially during Diwali. According
to religious beliefs, the wishes sought in the Tirupati Balaji temple are
fulfilled only when the devotees visit the Goddess Padmavati along with Balaji.
2. GOLDEN TEMPLE OF SOUTH INDIA, TAMIL NADU
The
Mahalakshmi temple, located in the Thirumalai code village of Sripuram in the
Vellu district of Tamil Nadu, is called the Golden Temple of South India.
This temple is spread over 100 acres and located on the Palar River banks, 145 km from Chennai. If you also want to please Goddess Lakshmi

3. LAXMINARAYAN TEMPLE, CHAMBA
Situated in
Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, this temple is a classic example of traditional
architecture and sculpture. This temple is the largest and oldest among the 6
major temples in Chamba. Built-in the Shikhar style, this temple is dedicated
to Lord Vishnu, which King Sahil Varman created in the 10th century. It is
believed that the devotees who come here on Diwali to worship, Goddess Lakshmi
does not go empty-handed.
4. MAHALAXMI TEMPLE, MUMBAI
Located on
Desai Marg, this temple was established during the British era. According to
mythology, Goddess Lakshmi appeared in the dream of Ramji Shivaji, a contractor, and ordered him to make 3 idols of the goddesses and install them in the
temple. The same three idols are in the temple Mahalakshmi, Mahakali, and Mahasaraswati. Devotees reach here from far and wide on the day of Diwali
to seek the blessings of the goddesses.
5. ASHTALAKSHMI TEMPLE, CHENNAI
Located near Elliot beach of Chennai, the length of this temple is about 65 feet and the
width is 45 feet. In this temple, eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi have been
established in 8 rooms built on 4 floors. Here Goddess Lakshmi is
seated on the temple's second floor with her husband, Lord Vishnu. This
temple is stunningly adorned on Diwali and is fully packed with devotees.
6. LAXMI NARAYAN TEMPLE, DELHI
One of the
main temples of Delhi, Laxminarayan Temple was initially built by Vir Singh
Dev in 1622, after which Prithvi Singh got it renovated in 1793, and in 1938 it
was expanded and renovated by India's large industrial family Birla Group. That
is why this temple is also called Birla Mandir. This temple is worshiped
with great pomp on the day of Diwali.
7. MAHALAXMI TEMPLE, INDORE
Malharrao II built the Shri Mahalakshmi temple located in Indore in 1832. It is
a 3-story temple, which was destroyed due to a fire in 1933. The temple was
renovated in 1942. It is said that Goddess Lakshmi fulfills all the wishes of
the people who come to this temple on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
8. CHAURASI TEMPLE, CHAMBA
Situated in
Bharmour district, 65 km from Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, this temple has idols
of Lord Ganesha and Narsingh along with Mahalakshmi. Situated in natural
plains, this temple is considered very important from historical and religious
points of view. People
from every corner of India visit this temple and seek the blessings of the Goddess
on Deepawali.
9. PADMANABHASWAMY TEMPLE, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM
Padmanabhaswamy
Temple located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala is a famous temple of Lord Vishnu,
it is believed that by visiting here on Deepawali, one gets the blessings of
Goddess Lakshmi and their house will be always full of wealth and prosperity.
This temple is famous all over the world for its gold treasure. It is said that
the Padmanama temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu was built by the kings of
Travancore.
10. MAHALAXMI TEMPLE, KOLHAPUR
It is said that the Mahalakshmi temple in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra was built by Chalukya ruler Karnadeva in the 7th century. After which it was rebuilt by Shilahar Yadav in the 9th century. In the main sanctum of this temple, a 40 kg statue of Maa Mahalakshmi is installed, which is 4 feet in length. It is said that this statue is about 7,000 years old. It is said that this statue is about 7,000 years old. It is said that for the devotees who visit this temple during Diwali, their all troubles are removed and happiness & prosperity are attained.
