India is famous all over the world for its culture, traditions, and history, but at the same time there is one more thing that makes it the first choice of tourists from India and abroad and that is - Indian cuisine. The aroma of Indian cuisine also attracts foreign tourists from far and wide. It is not that, you can eat Indian food only outside in any Indian hotel or street, or house. In India, food has also been linked to spirituality. Different types of Prasads are available in almost every temple of India, which are accepted by the devotees as blessings of God and satisfy their souls. Now that we have started talking about food or prasad in Indian temples, let us visit the great kitchen where prasad is prepared for more than 10,000 devotees every day.

1. GOLDEN TEMPLE, AMRITSAR

Amritsar, the most ancient and holy city of India, is famous all over the world for the Golden Temple. The most interesting and fun thing about the Golden Temple is the prasad distributed there, which is called Langar. The distribution of langar was started by the Supreme Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak, and till now this noble work is being carried forward by his devotees. If you have not tasted the langar available thereafter reaching there, then it means you have not tasted anything. Langar is prepared here for more than 60,000 devotees every day. The taste of halwa (Kadha Prasad) available throughout the day is such that you will express your desire to eat it again and again. Preparations for making langar and prasad start in its kitchen from midnight. Dal, rice, roti, sabzi, and kheer are the main dishes in the Prasad found here, the taste of which directly takes you closer to your God.

2. ISKCON TEMPLE, VRINDAVAN

According to the Hindu religion, the ISKCON temple of Vrindavan, the city of Lord Krishna, feeds more than 10,000 devotees every day. The preparation of food starts here from midnight itself, in which preparations are made from morning breakfast to the day's dinner. It is believed that the Satvik food available here strengthens our relationship with our God. Here not only the devotees of the country but also the devotees from abroad contribute their hands in this noble work and get the blessings of God.

3. SHRI SAI SANSTHAN PRASADALAYA, SHIRDI

India's largest kitchen is run with the help of solar power at Shirdi Sai Baba in the Ahmednagar district in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. This kitchen originated in the 19th century due to the famous miracle worker Sai Baba, also known as Fakir, which is now being enhanced with modern technology. More than 60,000 devotees satisfy their hunger here every day and it is one of the largest solar kitchens in India. Here it is not only about spirituality or worship but also about belly worship.

4. DHARMASTHALA MANJUNATHA TEMPLE, UDUPI

The most popular temple in South Karnataka, Udupi in the Karnataka state of South India, Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This holy place is believed to be associated with 800 years old history. More than 10,000 devotees visit here daily. Thousands of devotees are fed daily for free, which is called ‘Anna Daan’. Without any discrimination, rich and poor people all sit together and enjoy the offerings, and food available here and thank their God.

5. JAGANNATH TEMPLE, PURI

The famous Jagannath Temple located in the Indian state of Odisha is one of the major pilgrimage centers of the Hindus. Puri is a seaside region situated on the banks of the Bay of Bengal. Devotees throng here throughout the year to have a darshan of their Lord. People come to visit the land of Lord Jagannath ji throughout the year with their wishes. The most interesting thing here, the Prasad available here, attracts devotees from far and wide. Different types of dishes in the food attract devotees every time.
