Goa reopens for domestic tourists, rules you must know
Interstate travel has been permitted by the Central government of India and a number of states are reopening their borders to welcome domestic travellers and restart tourism in their state. Goa is also a part of this list. The favourite beach destination of Indians is open to welcome them.
The state government of Goa has announced the reopening of the state for domestic travellers from today, July 2, 2020. Tourism is the main revenue generating industry of the state and this news has come as a great relief to it. The people associated with the industry are prepared to welcome back tourists to the state. The state government has offered permission to 250 hotels to resume operations.
Goa reopening for domestic tourists
The state government has taken certain precautionary measures for the safety of the tourists and only those hotels that tick all the boxes of proper sanitization and other guidelines issued by WHO are allowed to resume operations.
The Tourism Minister of Goa, Manohar Ajgaonkar reported that domestic tourism will be allowed in the state from July 2. The travellers coming to the state will have to follow certain norms. This decision was taken in a cabinet meeting, headed by the CM, Pramod Sawant. The travellers must adhere to the given rules or they would not be allowed to enter the state.
Rules you must follow if you plan to visit
- The traveller needs to carry a COVID-19 negative certificate of a test that has been conducted within 48 hours of arrival.
- Travellers who fail to do so will have to get themselves tested upon arrival.
- Any symptomatic tourist will be sent back or will have to stay in quarantine till the test results are declared.
- Travellers will have to pre-book their hotels for stay before arrival.
- The hotels booked by the travellers must be only those approved by the state government.
- Travellers who book hotels or stays that aren’t approved by the government will not be allowed to enter the state.
