Lufthansa to resume flight operations to 130 destinations by end of June

Lufthansa Group is planning to restart flight operations in to 130 destinations by the end of June. From 1st June, Airline Lufthansa Euro wings and Swiss will start services to a select few destinations. These flight operations will resume from Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Dublin to Frankfurt Zurich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Cologne. The airlines will also increase the flight operation frequency from London Heathrow. The group will offer 63 departures weekly from next month.
Lufthansa plans to start over 1800 flights
The airline by the end of June will expand the range of destinations for travellers by covering over 106 destinations in Europe and over 20 destinations internationally. By that time Lufthansa plans to start over 1800 flights with more than 130 destinations.
Harry Hohmeister, board member of Lufthansa said, "With the June flight schedule, we are making an important contribution to the revitalisation of the aviation infrastructure. It is an essential part of the German and European economic power. People want to and can travel again, whether on holiday or for business reasons. That is why we will continue to expand our offer step by step in the coming months and connect Europe with each other and Europe with the world."
The airline will also offer long haul flights 19 destinations
The flights that will resume in first half of June in Germany and the rest of the continent include
- From Frankfurt: Hanover, Majorca, Sofia, Prague, Manchester, Billund, Nice, Budapest, Riga, Dublin, Krakow, Bucharest and Kiev.
- From Munich: Münster/Osnabrück, Sylt, Rostock, Vienna, Zurich, Brussels and Palma de Mallorca.
Other than this, the airline will also offer long haul flights 19 destinations out of the continent by mid June. That is 14 more destinations than in May. Lufthansa has also planned to resume more international flights by the second half of June.
