Unlock 2: Railway Ministry may start operation of more special trains

In the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for Unlock 2.0 on June 30, 2020, it was stated that more special passenger trains would be added and will start operation soon. Now the Railway Ministry has shared a proposal on the operation of 40 special trains under the same pretext.
The Proposal sent for operation of special trains
According to a report released on Tuesday, the Railway Ministry reportedly has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs for starting operation of 40 new trains. If the Home Ministry permits the working of these trains, the dates of their operation will be announced soon.
The sources have told the news firms that these trains are being prepared keeping points like number of passengers on the route, ways to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease, adequate means of investigation and expenses in mind. The final decision on the routes and stoppage of these special trains has not been taken yet.
Plans suggeasted by the Railway Ministry
The sources also revealed that these trains would be fully sanitized regularly. The passengers will have to arrive 90 minutes before the departure time of the train and will have to undergo thermal scanning. The Ministry is making plans on controlling the number of passengers entering the station.
The Advance Period Reservation will be120 days and a few seats will be kept under the tatkal quota system used for booking tickets. The Ministry has already been operating special Rajdhani trains. The operation of regular trains will stay suspended till August 12.
