Sicily offers to share holiday expenses post lockdown

Sicily announces that it would cover half the air ticket fares and one third of the lodging prices for the travellers wanting to visit the island. It is will also offer free tickets to many of its museums and archaeological sites.
Sicily has lost over €1 billion in tourism related revenue, ever since the lockdown was enforced here on March 10. The scheme might cost the island around €50 million, it hopes that the scheme would be able to attract a large number of tourists once the lockdown is lifted.
Italy is eager to welcome back tourists
The exact date of when this would be implemented has not yet been announced, but according to the news Italy will allow restaurants to re-open takeaway services and the manufacturing and construction sectors will also begin work from 4th May.
